A few words from the author: I made major revisions from scratch across four versions. This is a writing exercise, and I'll update this book slowly.
Su Ji, famed alongside the young master of her household as one of the "Two Gems of Great Qian," seemed unremarkable to Tian A'Jing. He even had the gall to steal the spotlight from her young master, so for a while, she found every single thing about him disagreeable.
Well, except for the Exquisite Bone inside his body. According to rumor, it could bring the dead back to life and restore flesh to bare bones. She had tried every possible means to take it from him, so she could boil it into soup for her young master and restore his damaged meridians.
After the incident, to avoid implicating her young master, Tian A'Jing endured a brutal whipping until her skin split and her flesh tore, then was dragged to the Su residence.
She had already prepared herself to die. She sneered, "Su Ji, you win. Kill me if you want... Ah, what are you doing?!"
She stared in shock at the man whose hands were all over her and cursed, "You scoundrel, your tastes are far too depraved! Hey, what are you doing?! At least wait until I've recovered!"
Who could have guessed that the man before her would have bloodshot eyes and a bitter voice? All she heard was him murmuring over and over, "A'Jing, don't move around. Your wound will reopen. It's my fault..."
Tian A'Jing's first half of life had been nothing but bad luck. Abandoned as a child, she was abandoned again after being taken in. Her hopeless love for the young master came to nothing. She thought she had been handed a tragic romance script for her whole life, never expecting that only after meeting Su Ji would she gradually discover she was actually in a sweet, doting romance.
A note for readers: This story has some wuxia jianghu elements and involves certain kinds of Gu poison, but contains no fantasy setting.
Theme: Imperfect happiness is better than perfect emptiness
