A reverse-chronological story about Qiao Mi roleplaying in a fairy-tale world. The main romance begins after they reach adulthood.
Jonathan, an unassuming small-town boy, encounters an unexpected turn of events at the age of ten: he turns into a mermaid. And not in Atlantis. To be precise, he isn't on the Earth they know, since he can barely hear any familiar heartbeat except one person's.
That person is another unfortunate victim, Damian, who is three years older than him. They were affected at almost the same time.

Jonathan lies in the deep sea, gloomily blowing bubbles. His blue eyes, inherited from his Kryptonian father, blend seamlessly with the water, clear and blue like the petals of the most beautiful cornflowers.
