Asami Nozomi has recently become obsessed with a hugely popular single-player VR game. The game is remarkably polished and offers incredible freedom, with countless beautiful NPCs to pursue and develop relationships with. It's attracted a huge number of players.
After a friend recommends it, Asami Nozomi chooses the Yokohama map's notoriously hardest NPC to win over, "Osamu Dazai." She causes trouble as she collects every achievement, but just as she is about to log out, her target catches her.
"You won me over and now you want to run? That won't do, player."
[Armed Detective Agency]
"I know this is a rather forward question, but..."
Her voice is a little hurried, but her gaze is utterly serious as she looks at him.
"Sir, would you be willing to drown yourself with me?"
"You give me such a strong feeling of... [love]."
The sincerity and ardor in her eyes don't seem feigned.
"If it's you, I'm sure you could help me experience a love that is perfect in death and reborn in the grave."
[Dark Era]
"Without a doubt, you're my favorite among all the people I've fallen in love with at first sight."
"What a thrilling confession, miss." The young man with violet eyes and a black coat draped over his shoulders smiles as he takes her hand. "But I'm not the sort of man who can be satisfied by just anyone."
--He doesn't just want to be her "first." He wants to be her "only one."
[Port Mafia Boss]
The bright windowpanes reflect the hopeless figures of the two of them. Two bodies incapable of love struggle to create a bashful, fragile air of intimacy, seeking a moment of peace and shallow happiness within it.
The restless blood and beating hearts in their bodies have long since become a blazing fire, ready to burn them and the last of their fantasies to ash.
What should she call that fleeting flutter of her heart? She doesn't know. But perhaps, for the two of them, an encounter as brief and incandescent as fireworks blooming in the night sky is already the best possible ending.
"We are rational and we are mad. We are greedy and we are restrained. We cling to each other, but keep our walls intact.
He and I both know:
A flutter is not falling in love, and longing is not devotion."
A fleeting heartbeat is enough. They don't need to love each other.

2. Contains a small amount of fiction within the fiction and multiple-ending elements from otome games. The heroine focuses on pursuing only one person from beginning to end. The volumes aren't directly connected, so you can treat them as separate parallel worlds.
