The world championship held by the official White Night Echo game every year at the end of the year means a great deal to both professional players and ordinary gamers.
The reason is simple: even amateur teams have a chance to compete for a spot at the world championship.
Countless young prodigies have made their names here, dazzled the crowds, and even caught the eye of professional teams.
That year, a makeshift team thrown together just ten minutes before registration closed defeated several professional teams by a stunning margin and took second place at the world championship.
Jiang Yiman, a contestant on the survivor team, had the in-game ID "Nightmare." She had an exceptional sense of teamwork, able to make crucial plays while directing her teammates. Meanwhile, Lu Que, the team's rescuer, repeatedly pulled off rescues without taking a hit in the finals, demonstrating extraordinary reflexes.
After the event, the two of them sat at the edge of the stage, imagining a brighter future together.
No one knew that they had once kissed, awkwardly and nervously, in a dim corner of the venue.
The domestic professional team TEMP made them an offer, but not long after signing, Jiang Yiman voluntarily broke her contract and left. Despite the steep penalty, she accepted an invitation from the overseas team RUY.
She went abroad alone, leaving Lu Que with only one sentence: "I don't see any hope in you."
Lu Que told himself countless times that she was someone who had broken her promise.
