Crossing Over to Save Myself

Chen Nan has always disguised herself as a boy. She's socially anxious and lets her fists do the talking, with a classic tough-on-the-outside, soft-on-the-inside personality and an unforgettable face.

Jiang Yu has both looks and talent, while his father owes money and he earns it. He's exactly the kind of hunter who appears as the prey.

When Chen Nan was five, she watched her mother enter a psychiatric hospital. Afterward, she was left with a woman who wanted to raise her as a boy, only to be abandoned. Ever since, her world has held only two things: hatred for her father and boxing. Though she was ostracized at school, she transferred anyway to protect her classmates. She often wondered, "They say boys take after their mothers. When will I be able to make Mom love me?"

Class Six, Grade Ten, at No. 62 Middle School is home to the easygoing top student Jiang Yu, the burly Yang Tianhua, landlady Liu Wenjing, rich kid Tian Li, sweet and gentle Liu Yuan, and their chatty homeroom teacher, among others.

There's funny school life, playful banter among friends, countless conflicts between students and teachers and within families, and the cautious testing of the waters in romance.

Chen Nan can't stand seeing Jiang Yu get bullied, unaware that he's only doing it to get closer to her.

Chen Nan says she's lost in a fog, and Jiang Yu is a lamp that gives her direction. But a lamp can't shine for just one person.

In Jiang Yu's eyes, though, Chen Nan was the one who once gave him light. He wants to do something for her, too.

Chen Nan and Jiang Yu steadily and warmly make their way toward each other, eventually writing a love story that belongs to them alone.

With friendship and love supporting her, Chen Nan finally accepts herself and sets out on a life of her own.

Everyone here has their own story and past, but youth is in full bloom, and the possibilities are endless.
