Only Time Remembers

First of all

This is a repost, not an attempt to get on any rankings or attract attention. In fact, that was never likely anyway. I simply happened to become unusually productive recently and have nearly finished writing the story. While making some revisions, I ran into Jinjiang deleting pen names, which finally let me register the long-coveted pen name "He You." That was when I decided to move over.

I started writing this during summer vacation in 2005 and finished in the winter of 2010. That really is quite a long time to drag things out.

Meiyi said that a story like this is something you only write once in your life, so this is my tribute to my younger days.

Here comes my stubborn divider

Standing on the riverbank, childhood lies on the left and maturity on the right.

Just like the little white horse by the river in my childhood memories.

Not knowing whether the old ox or the squirrel was right.

It bravely lifted its hooves and stepped into the water.

Stumbling its way through youth.

Only then could it truly understand.

Bitterness. Heartache. Spice.

A lifetime is long, but youth is fleeting.

The feelings that once cut so deep are gradually forgotten as we walk the long road of life.

When we suddenly look back, the fireworks have faded, and only time remembers.

"Only Time Remembers" was previously titled "Wind Beneath the Wings" and "Like Smoke." My former pen names were Nuzi He You, Sunshinehippo, and Hippopotamus Hey Xiu.
