Synopsis:
Under a sky filled with rosy clouds, a little boat sailed away. Cheng Cai held his friend Xu Sanduo close, and was allowed to set out on a much longer road.
What would happen to them after that? We can only console ourselves by imagining their story, soothing the hearts stirred by them.
I hope to see more of them in their everyday lives.
Excerpt:
The first day of his twenty-fourth year was just like any other.
Training, training, and more training.
He took his knocks in the dust and mud, aiming through the roar of gunfire falling like rain.
It wasn't until night that Xu Sanduo had a chance to read up on how to preserve a bouquet.
In the end, he discovered with resignation that, given the materials at hand, he would have to use the most primitive method: air-drying.
He tied the stems together with hemp twine, secured them with a hangman's knot, and hung them in the corner of his desk.
Qi Huan flicked a petal. “What an unusual arrangement.”
“The stems are pretty weak. If I hang them right-side up to dry, they might snap.” Xu Sanduo gently brushed the flowers, setting the ones that had been disturbed back in place.
Qi Huan found Wu Zhe and had him admire the “fate” of his gift.
Perhaps he wanted to show off his own gift: The Little Prince sat neatly on Xu Sanduo's bookshelf, looking all the more respectable.
Wu Zhe ignored Qi Huan and put an arm around Xu Sanduo. “Sanduo, thank you for cherishing it.”
Theme: Never abandon, never give up.
