The Rise of Lady Xue San

After Xue Hui became Xue Sanniang, losing her family overnight, she rolled up her sleeves and got to work. At least she still had a dependable older brother, right? As for that sharp-tongued, arrogant boy, she'd make him an extra snack, just this once, since he had beaten off her former fiance.

But their good days lasted only a few days before the times grew turbulent and they had to flee famine. Xue Hui grabbed her things, determined not to hold her brother back. She never expected someone to step in front of her, awkwardly offering to protect her in return for all those delicious meals.

After a difficult journey, they finally arrived, only to have to start all over again. Xue Hui smiled. Perfect! I'm in charge on my own turf!

Xue Hui's motto: "Life slaps you in the face? Slap it right back! If that doesn't work, grab a stick!"
