Su Zhixin transmigrates into a book, becoming the class monitor in a modern boys' love school story.
As for why the male leads aren't class monitors: the top student is naturally too independent to care, while the bottom student simply isn't qualified.

Every time the leads' relationship takes a step forward, he gets scolded by their counselor, summoned for a talk by the department secretary, and lectured by the school administrators...
Su Zhixin sees black. He spent his whole life being a model citizen, and now that he's finally gotten another chance at life, does he have to be a hapless sacrificial pawn too?!

So, on the night Li Ze and Cheng Yu plan to climb over the wall again, Su Zhixin slowly steps in front of them. "If you're really going to climb over, go over me. That way, I'll have something to tell the counselor when they ask."
Later, Li Ze invites Cheng Yu to cook hot pot in the dorm, only to see Su Zhixin's icy expression. "You're using an illegal appliance at such high power. If a fire breaks out, the whole school could be in trouble. You're not eating!"
Later still, just as Li Ze's fireworks begin to spark, he sees Su Zhixin, laughing in exasperation. "Fine, these are all the evidence I need. You're bringing flammable explosives into the dorm. If you dare light them today, I'll die right here in front of you!"
At that, Cheng Yu, across from them, protests indignantly, "Why do you always keep an eye on him and never on me?!"
Su Zhixin is genuinely surprised. "You? Shouldn't you be more worried about whether you can graduate, with all those failed classes you still need to retake?"
And Li Ze, the top student who's always seemed as untouchable as a flower on a high peak, looks strangely at him. His long fingers unconsciously rub his watch before he finally looks up. "All right. I'll do what you say."
