Zhong Miao is an extreme social recluse. She has only two ways of dealing with people: online, and running away.
Unfortunately, the handsome new neighbor across the hall is much too friendly, with absolutely no sense of boundaries, so she always scurries off faster than a little mouse.
Then she sees the handsome neighbor interacting with other people, looking aloof and haughty, even so sharp-tongued and cold that it makes her question her sanity.
What happened to the warm, cheerful guy?
What happened to the gentle, considerate older boyfriend?
It was all an act!
Zhong Miao trembles in fear.
Xie Xun scoops Zhong Miao up just as she's curled up by the bed, about to fall, and pulls her into his arms.
He nuzzles the back of her neck. “Don't be scared, Miao Miao. You're different from them.”
He likes her so much he's going crazy.
Miao Miao curls up: Is that what I'm worried about?

Usually, Xie Xun sees right through people.
But ever since he moved, he keeps finding himself amazed by the way his neighbor thinks.
How can anyone be this timid?
