On the high-speed train to university, He Yi dozed off. When she woke and opened her eyes, she wished she could faint again.

First, she'd been leaning on the handsome guy beside her for over two hours, leaving white drool stains on his black shirt that might never come out.

Second, he was Chi Gui, the guy she'd had a crush on for over a year and a half in high school, but had never worked up the courage to speak to, let alone confess to.

Her best friend was frantically urging her over the phone to seize the chance and make a move, but He Yi was so nervous she could barely get her words out. When he asked if she wanted to add him on WeChat before they parted, she felt guilty because she'd already secretly added him but had never messaged him. Before she knew it, she blurted out:

"I don't have WeChat."

Later, when a persistent suitor publicly confessed to her and harassed her outside her dorm, He Yi coolly said she already liked someone and described her crush, Chi Gui.

"The person I like is the kind of guy who's gentle and considerate, modest and humble, and always willing to help..."

Chi Gui happened to pass by and overheard her. He repeated those traits to his friends and asked for their honest opinion on how well he fit the description. They all gave the same answer.

"You? Not even close!"

He clenched his jaw, expressionless, and decided to start managing his image to fit that description, determined to replace the pretentious pretty boy in He Yi's heart.

"The person I like clearly likes someone else, but he's always so nice to me..."

Chi Gui fought down the urge to tear that guy limb from limb and gently comforted her.

This is compared to two people meeting in love like a spacetime singularity, curving the course of each other's lives so completely that no change of coordinates can erase it.

In other words, just as the Earth is destined to orbit the Sun once they meet, true love entangles two people's paths in a way that can never return them to where they began.

P.S. I didn't write this line, please don't come for me!! I came up with this metaphor specifically to imitate the thought process of a genius robot!!
