He Wants to Be My Leading Man

Su Ruizhu is a flower that will wither without love to nourish it.

After her grandmother, who loved her with all her heart, passed away, she felt herself slowly turning into a mushroom hiding in a dark corner.

The sunlight could no longer reach her, and even the wind blowing past her turned into a bitterly cold gale.

Until one day, Pei Huzhang appeared before her and reached out with eager eyes. "Come with me."

Su Ruizhu wanted to feel warmth again. She thought Pei Huzhang was the sun that would bring warmth back into her life.

But...

No matter how madly Pei Huzhang seemed to love her, she could always see the truth beneath the surface: He doesn't love me.

She thought, I should just stay a gloomy little mushroom in the corner.

-

Pei Huzhang was a well-known workaholic. His life's goal was to make the Pei family bigger and stronger.

From childhood onward, he had always sneered at love. As far as he was concerned, if love could help him achieve his life's goal, then his affection could be assigned a price.

Until one day, a notification sounded beside his ear.

[Ding! System awakening and binding complete.]

Then came an angry scolding:

[Ugh, you useless thing! How have you still not become the male lead?]

The System told him that if he became the male lead whom Su Ruizhu acknowledged and made her happy for the rest of her life, he could become the richest person in the world.

Pei Huzhang thought this was probably the only time in his life he could sell himself for a good price.

But...

The System never said that Su Ruizhu was a love-struck fool who would die without love!

[Please note: A silly, sweet dog-blooded romance.

This story is set in a fictional world. All place names, personal names, and countries are invented. Please treat it as a parallel world.]
