The Spirit-Reader's Handbook

Ye Xing is a specially assigned spirit master for the National Special Administration Bureau. She relies on her spiritual power to heal quickly and lives by the motto, "As long as I don't die, it's all a minor problem." She's such a peculiar person that she's driven her own attendant sword into a devoted worrier who keeps an eye on her every day, afraid she'll send her blades away and go risk her life.

But Ye Xing is an expert at talking her way out of anything. Whether it's advice from her elders or the heartfelt confessions of the sword warriors, she brushes it all aside. She treats injury assessments like enemy intelligence reports, and takes the devoted worrier's words as flirtation.

In short, none of it is a big deal.

It's just that, whether by bad luck or not, her life isn't a novel, but it's just as dramatic. A regular day at work can mean class struggle above and rooting out moles below.

Ye Xing thinks this administration is doomed sooner or later.
