Quit-Smoking “Prison” tells the story of a group of people trying to quit smoking in a special “prison,” weaving together life’s joys and sorrows with warmth and personal growth. Gu Yuan, Su Yichen, and Lin Qiming decide to set up the quit-smoking “prison” because of pressures in their lives and family problems. They recruit people with very different stories, including Qian Er Ye, Sha Sha, and Da Sheng. As they try to quit, they face all kinds of funny incidents and challenges, from fooling around while painting the walls to a monkey causing a commotion. They also endure the torment of nicotine cravings and the hardships of everyday life.
After Sha Sha discovers that her boyfriend has been cheating on her, everyone’s care and support help her get back on her feet. Nuan Nuan has terminal lung cancer, yet her optimism and kindness inspire those around her. Her wish is to go diving and take a photo with a clownfish on her twentieth birthday. To help make her wish come true, Gu Yuan, Su Yichen, and Lin Qiming overcome one difficulty after another to learn to dive and earn their instructor certifications. At last, on Nuan Nuan’s birthday, they wait for her by the sea in Sanya. Though weak, she bravely enters the water, and they share a happy moment in the beautiful underwater world.
