[The Grave Robbers' Chronicles] I Found a Little Mute (Part Two)

This is the sequel to The Grave Robbers' Chronicles: I Found a Little Mute Girl (Book One).

This book begins the third volume, "Desert Sea: Traces Lost in the Sand," and focuses mainly on the Desert Sea story.

The little mute girl and Jiang Yue awaken outside the Bronze Gate with no memories. They only know that they are Zhang Qiling's shadow, so they obediently wait outside the gate for Zhang Qiling to emerge.

The little mute girl also has a twin brother who shares her body, but he is only a consciousness called "Shadow."

"Shadow" says he is Zhang Qiling's true shadow.

One day, the little mute girl starts having nightmares. In them, a name keeps appearing: "Wu Xie."

"Shadow" says Wu Xie was the person who killed her in her previous life.

To get revenge, the little mute girl and Jiang Yue decide that one of them will guard the gate while the other goes down the mountain.

But once the little mute girl leaves Changbai Mountain and enters the world beyond, all sorts of strange things start happening…

Faced with the wicked and arrogant Xiao Zhang Ge, she is completely bewildered.

"What? You're my uncle?"

"Huh? Give me a break. I don't even have parents, so how could I have an uncle?"

Faced with the imposing Xie Yuchen, she slides over on her knees.

"I've decided. You're my uncle!"

"Second Uncle, your niece has had such a hard time finding you!"

Faced with Zhang Haike, who looks just like Wu Xie, she silently rolls her eyes.

"Uncle, is cosplay fun?"

"You're way too old to be doing something this weird. And impersonating someone isn't exactly encouraged, either."

At last, when she finds Wu Xie, she regards him with suspicion.

"You say you're Wu Xie, so that makes you Wu Xie? How can you prove it?"

"My uncle says the real Wu Xie is practically a military working dog in human form. Can you live up to that?"

Wu Xie: So you really are just calling yourself a dog! Zhang Haike, you absolute [expletive]!
