A seemingly obedient but actually wicked senior sister vs. a gentle, motherly, sickly junior sister
There were three kinds of people Jiang Miyin could never understand.
Mysterious, aloof, and cruel.
Yin Lanxue was the first two.
She was a notorious madwoman in the sect. Rumor had it that she lost her mind after her cultivation was crippled. The sect master pitied her lonely, helpless state and let her stay in the sect, living in a remote corner.
After all, she was a cripple. She would be dead in a few years anyway.
But she wasn't like ordinary mad people. She didn't babble nonsense, and she was extremely aloof.
Her coldness was such that when she arrived, snow fell on the sect's grounds, where it had never snowed before.
The whole sect was astonished, but no one would attribute it to the madwoman. Only Jiang Miyin had a vague premonition.
Because on the night the snow fell, Yin Lanxue came to see her.
Jiang Miyin was not ignorant and naive in this life. She had been reborn.
When she awoke, she was unconscious near the sect. She decided that in this life she would stay out of the world's affairs, live quietly, avoid cultivation, and live as long as she could.
So it was only natural that the two good-for-nothings were assigned to live together.
The night they met, snowflakes swirled through the air. Yin Lanxue emerged from the deep, overgrown courtyard. Her expression was calm, but her gait was as light as clouds veiling the moon, as graceful as a breeze sweeping snow.
Her silver hair fell loose, like the Milky Way spilling down from the heavens. Her pale blue eyes were cold, reflecting the mark between her brows.
She was like a goddess from a snowy mountain, except that she lacked a pure white deer at her side.
This sudden meeting that night gave them a chance to get to know each other.
But Jiang Miyin thought this woman really wasn't right in the head.
She said the sect master was powerful, and Yin Lanxue smiled. "Not as powerful as me."
She said the sect was huge, and Yin Lanxue narrowed her eyes. "Not as vast as my territory."
Just look at the nonsense she was spouting.
Feeling playful, Jiang Miyin asked Yin Lanxue, "Then aren't you the strongest and wealthiest person in the world? Who could possibly be stronger than you, Senior Sister Yin?"
Yin Lanxue gazed into her eyes and smiled, her voice gentle. "You."
"Everything I have belongs to you, too."
Later, Jiang Miyin discovered that Yin Lanxue fit the third description as well.
Yin Lanxue placed the lives of everyone who had harmed her in her previous life in Jiang Miyin's hands, just to ask her one question:
"Ayin, do you like it?"
In those clear, sparkling eyes like ice beads, an exceptionally innocent and carefree smile shone.
In the blood pooling all around them, it was downright chilling.
Much later, Jiang Miyin stood beneath a flowering tree and carefully picked a pear blossom, tucking it into the hair of the person before her.
The white flower suited the white-haired woman, like drifting snow that always fell beside her. Yin Lanxue smiled as she always had, her eyes full of tender affection, blue as a lake and crystal clear, without a trace of murkiness.
Jiang Miyin pressed a hand to her forehead. "I get it now. You've been pretending to be crazy all along."
Yin Lanxue smiled tenderly. "At least Ayin believed me."
