Much, much later, after she had returned to her true form, Miyano Shiho finally asked someone, "How did you figure out which of us you loved?"

The person who had returned to being Kudo Shinichi answered smugly, "That's easy for a detective like me."

"Go on, then." The brown-haired woman took a sip of tea and pressed him.

"It's nothing much. I just realized the difference between you two. As long as I'm alive, I'll do whatever it takes to protect Ran. But I only want to die with this guy Yui in my arms. That's all there is to it."

"He's lucky," the brown-haired woman said, rubbing the rim of her cup.

"I think so too!"

P.S. This story has been scrapped and rewritten, so consider it a major revision. I just couldn't keep writing the old version. Damn, it was ridiculously stupid!
