On the first day after moving into the Zhou family home, Wen Chuhe saw an exceptionally handsome boy. He wore a white shirt and had a cool, distinguished air. Her mother reminded her, “Call him Big Brother.”
“Big Brother.”
The boy glanced at her coolly without replying.
She could tell that he openly disliked her.
Wen Chuhe secretly vowed that no matter how untouchable he seemed, she would drag him down from his pedestal.
.
Throughout high school, Wen Chuhe followed him around, tirelessly calling him “Big Brother.”
Zhou Xingjian repeatedly warned her coldly, “I'm not your brother.”
Wen Chuhe kept calling him, “Big Brother, Big Brother, Big Brother.”
His friends envied him for having such a cute little sister, but Zhou Xingjian denied it.
They didn't believe him, and bluntly called him out: “You look like a puppy seeing its owner whenever your little sister shows up.”
.
Wen Chuhe only learned later that Zhou Xingjian was a lunatic.
Her biggest regret was letting her attraction to his looks get the better of her that summer and provoking him.
He grew less like a person and more like a dog.
He would look at her with wet, dark eyes as she lost herself in the moment, then ask in a hoarse voice, “Did Big Brother do a good job? Did you like it?”
Wen Chuhe was going crazy.
When she tried to get away, she realized it was too late.
She had indeed dragged him down from his pedestal.
But Wen Chuhe silently stared at the golden cage by the bedside. It was a gift Zhou Xingjian had given her for her nineteenth birthday. Inside it was a wooden dog figurine.
He had insisted she keep it in her room.
As she had wished, he finally called her “little sister,” but only in certain circumstances.
Note: The male lead is a very gloomy, unhinged yandere and does engage in mild forced pursuit. If that's not your thing, please read with caution. No personal attacks, please. Let's all get along, and may all my lovely readers find the story they enjoy~

* They are not related by blood, are not listed in the same household registration book, and their parents are not married. There is no family relationship between them, and there are no intimate scenes before they are adults.
* The male lead has a mild psychological disorder and an intense desire to control the female lead. He is a gloomy, unhinged yandere, but he will not hurt her.
* All characters have agency. The characters' values do not represent the author's.
Coming Soon: I Used My Childhood Friend to Ward Off Suitors, But He...
“Quick, quick!” Lin Qiyue dashed onto the balcony, grabbed the boy by the collar, rose onto her toes, and kissed him in a rush. “Zhou Shisong, help me out. Pretend to kiss me.”
Downstairs, a boy looked up and happened to see them.
On the balcony, the tall, slender boy held the back of the girl's head and bent down to kiss her.
No one knew how long it lasted.
“Has he left?” Lin Qiyue pressed a hand to his chest, breathing slightly hard, her words muffled.
The atmosphere was tense, and she completely ignored the intensely possessive masculine aura surrounding her.
The boy lifted his half-lidded eyes and glanced casually down. The street below was already empty.
“He's still there.” Zhou Shisong's voice was hoarse as he deepened the kiss without a word.
Lin Qiyue wiped her mouth and went back to her room, then gave it some thought.
She sent Zhou Shisong a message.
“You don't have a crush on me, do you?”
His reply was exactly in character, just as she had expected.
Cool and brief.
“How could I?”
Lin Qiyue breathed a sigh of relief.
“Then I'm glad.”
.
Lin Qiyue was sure she didn't like Zhou Shisong, and that he was only pretending to be interested in her too.
They had only kissed a few times.
Besides, he “couldn't do it.”
So when she was ready to break things off, she spoke openly and calmly.
“Let's pretend none of this ever happened. We'll still be good friends.”
The man heard her and lowered his lashes, the corners of his lips lifting slightly.
He seemed to approve of what she had said.
Lin Qiyue didn't notice the surging possessiveness in his dark eyes.
He watched her with a half-smile, his cool fingers rubbing her ankle and slowly moving upward, sending a shiver through her body.
“So you'll use me and then run away?”
“Baby.”
Later.
Lin Qiyue realized she'd been wrong.
He gently brushed a hand over her tousled hair, gave a soft laugh, then leaned down and kissed her again. “Who told you I couldn't do it?”
