One has her heart set on romance vs. one has her heart set on rebellion
Ning Huaichuan is descended from a military family and was personally appointed General of Yiguo by the emperor. During a trip on official business, he unexpectedly rescued a merchant's daughter from the freezing snow.
He fell for her at first sight and brought her back to the capital, treating her with such kindness that he assumed she would naturally stay by his side.
One day, he proposed and offered her the status of a secondary wife. But she suddenly dropped to her knees and begged him to find her a suitable husband.
“Are you saying you'd rather marry a peddler or a penniless scholar and go hungry than stay by my side?
“Yes.”
In the end, his expression darkened. “No.”

Zhao Chenyu is the princess of the fallen Southern Ling kingdom. She approached Ning Huaichuan for a reason of her own.
Back then, she had used a retreat as a way to advance, and Ning Huaichuan had offered her the position of his principal wife. She had been so pleased with herself.
But gradually, she began to realize that things seemed to be slipping out of her control.
The husband she saw as her enemy would secretly clean up her messes after she let something slip. And amid the treacherous struggles in the capital, she would secretly protect him in turn.
Later, when the snow fell thickly once more, they stood side by side beneath the winter sky.
He said, “Zhao Chenyu, I am willing to conspire with you.”
tips
1. The dynasty in this story is fictional, and many details are invented. Please don't scrutinize them too closely.
2. This is my first novel, and my writing may not be very good, but I will see it through to the end. Whether you've read it and liked it or not, thank you for giving it a chance.
3. There are no characters who are purely love-struck. The story has a touch of an ensemble cast, and everyone has their own convictions. The leads go from being enemies to fighting side by side.
Theme: Enter the game to change your fate against the odds.
