(All characters are adults before they start dating.)
Li Rang says he believes in love at first sight. The next second, he hears Lu Yize say that anyone who believes in love at first sight is an idiot.
And that's when Li Rang starts believing in love at first sight... with an enemy.
Lu Yize says he only believes in love that grows over time. But one second after calling people who believe in love at first sight idiots, he falls for Li Rang at first sight.
Lu Yize: What the hell, am I the idiot?
Top student who's hopeless at everything except studying x aloof, taciturn underachiever who turns out to be a dark horse
Back in their first year of high school, Lu Yize had already heard of Li Rang: the school bully who smoked, drank, skipped class, played truant, got into fights, and was ruthless. Lu Yize had only ever encountered people like that in novels, and he really wanted to see one in real life.
When he finally did, Lu Yize realized Li Rang wasn't quite what he'd imagined.
Rumors really are scary. How is Li Rang a school bully? He doesn't smoke, drink, skip class, or get into fights. Hitting Lu Yize doesn't count.
After accidentally discovering that everything on Lu Yize's phone had something to do with him, Li Rang finally realized that Lu Yize might as well have written "I'm secretly in love with you" across his face.
At first, Li Rang saw right through him but said nothing, quietly watching Lu Yize put on a show.
Later, Li Rang was glad he'd never said that anyone who believed love grows over time was an idiot.
Note: The college entrance exam system in the story follows the old format, with students simply divided into arts and sciences tracks.
Content warnings: The writing may not be great. The love interest once had a crush on someone, but it never developed into genuine feelings. Both leads are a little immature, with personalities appropriate for high school students.
Theme: The outcome isn't set in stone. Either of us could be a dark horse.
