A note before anything else: I'm locking all chapters while I rewrite them.
Why rewrite?
Because lately I've been sitting at my computer for hours, staring at the outline for what's next, unable to write even a few thousand words.
This has never happened to me before when writing.
I don't want to end the story abruptly or abandon it. I want to give every story of mine an ending.
At the very least, I want to write the best story I can at my current level.
This situation came about because I started the story too blindly and rashly.
After struggling with it for days, I've decided to scrap everything and rewrite it.
I'm sorry, everyone., Left on 8/17
Here's the revised blurb:
[Fragile beauty x loyal general] [Size difference] [A sweet post-marriage romance with a reborn male lead] [Some possessive behavior the male lead believes to be forcibly taking the female lead]
Xie Ciying is the third daughter of a concubine in the Xie family. Her father never cared for her, and neither did her mother. She's also sickly. The only thing worth mentioning about her is that she's engaged to the second son of the Xiao family.
But before they can marry, Xiao Zhiyuan, the eldest son of the Xiao family, returns victorious after years of fighting abroad. His one request to the emperor is:
To marry Xie Ciying.
For an elder brother to steal his younger brother's wife goes against all propriety. The court officials denounce Xiao Zhiyuan in the harshest terms, yet they can't stop Xie Ciying from marrying into the Xiao family.
Xie Ciying doesn't know why Xiao Zhiyuan wants to marry her, but she's certain she's never met the eldest son of the Xiao family.
So it must be as the rumors say: the eldest and second sons are at odds, and he's doing this to get revenge on his younger brother.
Xiao Zhiyuan first met Xie Ciying in his previous life, three years after she married his younger brother.
He returned to the capital in glory after fighting on the battlefield, only to fall in love at first sight with his sickly younger brother's wife.
But before he could do anything, Xie Ciying died of sorrow.
After that, he died amid political power struggles.
When he awoke again, he was reborn before Xie Ciying's wedding.
Xiao Zhiyuan knows Xie Ciying loves his younger brother and doesn't love him.
If she wants to leave, he'll lock her up until she has no way to leave him.
Late at night, Xie Ciying is held in Xiao Zhiyuan's arms, her body limp and the corners of her eyes tinged red.
Xie Ciying tries to speak, but Xiao Zhiyuan rubs his fingers over her lips and chuckles softly by her ear, his voice wild and obsessive.
"Be good. Don't say anything that will upset me."
Xie Ciying, limp and helpless, who had no special feelings for anyone and whose desire to leave was all a misunderstanding: Could you at least listen to me for once!
1. The male lead is reborn. Later, the female lead will recover her memories of her previous life in her dreams.
2. The female lead and the second male lead have no special relationship in either life.
3. This should be a sweet little story.
Coming next: A historical romance. Please add "Another Day of Framing the Assistant Minister of the Court of Judicial Review" to your favorites.
Self-disciplined and proper male lead x gloomy, insecure female lead
Fu Yinyi is the self-disciplined, proper, stubborn, and rigid assistant minister of the Court of Judicial Review.
He observes every rule of propriety, doesn't covet money or profit, and doesn't form factions. Even in the capital, where political parties fight each other to the death, he remains an incorruptible breath of fresh air.
No one can find fault with his conduct.
Everyone respects and admires him, except Ye Muzhe.
Ye Muzhe scoffs. What kind of person has no selfish motives? Besides, she's seen this "elegant gentleman's" true face.
This so-called saint, praised by everyone, is no different from those petty criminals.
Ye Muzhe hates Fu Yinyi for destroying her family. She swears she'll expose his vile nature and ruin his reputation.
So she disguises herself as a guard and infiltrates Fu Yinyi's side, gradually winning his trust.
As they spend day after day together, she feels herself wavering and falling for him.
Ye Muzhe panics.
No, she can't waver. Even if it means framing him, she has to bring Fu Yinyi down. Otherwise, how can she face her parents and older brother?
In the end, Ye Muzhe realizes she's only a pawn used by someone else to deal with Fu Yinyi.
She hated the wrong person all along.
How ridiculous. Truly ridiculous.
So she runs away.
She abandons her ridiculous plan to frame him and runs.
But Ye Muzhe doesn't know that Fu Yinyi is waiting.
Waiting for the little guard who wears her wicked intentions plainly on her face to make one final "mistake."
Then he'll use that to keep her by his side forever.
For years, Fu Yinyi has always followed the rules and never indulged his desires.
He knows that desire and selfishness are the beginning of injustice. As the man in charge of the Court of Judicial Review, he cannot act that way.
She is the only desire he cannot suppress, no matter how hard he tries.
He has developed an uncontrollable selfish wish to keep her by his side.
For that, he can resort to some methods he usually disdains...
But before that day comes, she leaves. She abandons him...
