One day, it rained out of nowhere in Ning City. Ling Ran had no umbrella, and by the time she reached her apartment building, she was drenched and disheveled. She stepped into the elevator.
The doors closed, then opened again. A man in a black waterproof jacket stepped inside. He was tall, and his clothes were wet from the rain, yet he looked much more presentable than Ling Ran.
Ling Ran froze, staring at the man she hadn't seen in ages as he pressed the button for the floor below hers.
Her ex-boyfriend had moved downstairs. He greeted her like an old classmate, saying it had been a long time.
