Even though it was the middle of the school term, Aoba Johsai took in three transfer students from Tokyo: a girl with long dark green hair, a boy with short white hair, and a boy with short black hair. The three claimed they had transferred from a religious school that had shut down. When it came time to choose clubs, they looked at each other in confusion.
Yuta: So, which club can we all join together?
Inumaki: I can't join one where I have to talk. [holds up a sign]
Maki: You can't join girls' sports clubs either. I can be an assistant for a boys' club, though.
So Inumaki and Maki both turn to Yuta: Please! You don't want us to miss out on our credits, do you?
And so the Aoba Johsai volleyball club gains a frail-looking, black-haired boy who doesn't seem particularly athletic, along with two assistants. One of them usually says things no one understands, and the other supervises their training like a demon, but they're all good people!
But after the holidays, everyone discovers that their sickly, black-haired, spiky-haired first-year puppy has advanced to the next grade and evolved into a gloomy, straight-haired ghost!!!
Yuta: If you spent the entire break working around the clock at home and abroad to kill curses that were ugly as sin, you'd look like this too. :)
Yuta is the top, and the pairing is Tōru Oikawa. The main plot is about volleyball.
The technical college shut down because, in his second run, Gojo Satoru enacted major reforms in the jujutsu world. This is a premise from an earlier story of mine that I haven't published here. I'll explain things in as much detail as possible when the Jujutsu Kaisen parts come up.
In this version, Yuta is a first-year and Oikawa is a second-year when Yuta joins Aoba Johsai, and the main story begins soon afterward.
Lots and lots of personal headcanons, a crack pairing, and some chaotic plot elements.
Theme: Talent can blossom and bear fruit
