The Sharp-Tongued Esports God and His Bronze-Rank Childhood Friend

Lian Mei, the most popular streamer in Green River TV's Glory Battlefield section, is a trash-talker with a hair-trigger temper who can fire off ten insults a second. He's the shining star of Cursing City.

When he gets matched with a terrible teammate, he'll suggest they scatter rice over their keyboard and let the family chicken take over. When commentating on esports matches, he'll tell the players to go work in a factory instead of playing professionally.

He even dares to call the top donor's gameplay complete garbage when they duo together.

Everyone thinks he's a hopeless lone wolf, until one day Lian Mei starts duo-queuing with someone.

This person is Bronze rank, has god-awful mechanics, can't hit the broad side of a barn, and keeps dancing on all of Lian Mei's nerves.

The viewers expect Lian Mei to start cursing, but instead they watch the lone wolf play bodyguard, teach them how to move, and protect them like a devoted nanny.

He doesn't just refrain from insulting them. When they fire a whole magazine into thin air, he closes his eyes and praises their shooting.

Whoever you are, get off our little sister!

A random teammate gets knocked down and calls for a revive.

Lian Mei turns on voice chat for teammates, all sweet and obedient, JPG: "Okay, bro. Wait here for me."

Then he switches to the stream mic and instantly turns irritable: "With shooting that can't hit anything, you still have the nerve to call for a revive? If it were me, I'd be so ashamed I'd crawl back into my mother's womb and get remade. What a noob!"

Does your brother know you have two faces?

Unbeknownst to Lian Mei, on the other end, Chu Heng hears him sweetly call him "bro" through the headset, then hears him insult the noob teammate. A fond smile appears on Chu Heng's face.

Only later does Lian Mei discover that Chu Heng, his childhood friend whom he's secretly loved for years and always assumed was straight as a ruler, not only feels the same way, but was also the first viewer in his livestream and the top donor whose gameplay he'd called "complete garbage"...

Mutual pining. Childhood friends.
