Synopsis

Xu Fangqing transmigrates for no apparent reason into a world overrun by rampaging monsters.

New to the place, she unwittingly takes a fatal blow for Zhu Qingfang, who brings her back to the Qingyun Sect.

After seeing how terrifying the monsters are, she believes Zhu Qingfang's lies and joins the Qingyun Sect to save her own life. Only afterward does she realize she's been tricked.

The Qingyun Sect is the tiny sect from the TV drama she was watching before she transmigrated. It has only three members besides the heroine, and they're all NPCs.

About the Qingyun Sect: The master's abilities are average, and he has to guard the Void Abyss. The senior sister wields a spirit sword and has peerless swordsmanship. The junior brother is a villain with powerful talisman arts.

As for the senior brother, Zhu Qingfang is a cannon-fodder NPC, an NPC among cannon fodder. He can't wield a sword or draw talismans, and was supposed to die in the first episode, but Xu Fangqing saved him. So in addition to gathering herbs and cooking, one more task is added to his daily routine: looking after his junior sister.

A good-for-nothing. In this monster-ridden world, Zhu Qingfang is utterly useless.

Xu Fangqing rubbed her forehead helplessly, determined to latch onto her senior sister and stay alive.

Just then, the seal on the Void Abyss began to weaken, and the Demon Lord tried to escape.

Xu Fangqing went down the mountain with her senior brother and senior sister to reinforce the seal. When an accident suddenly occurred, she grabbed her senior sister's spirit sword without a word and swept away the surrounding monsters with a single stroke.

The master was thrilled. "Your sword aura is indistinguishable from the Sword Venerable's! Take the Qingshuang Sword and deal with the Demon Lord. I'm leaving it to you!"

Xu Fangqing, who couldn't even lift a sword in reality, pointed at herself. "Me?"

The master said, "And your senior sister, senior brother, and junior brother."

Xu Fangqing said, "I understand about my senior sister and junior brother, but Zhu Qingfang?!"

He's useless at everything. Won't taking him down the mountain just get him killed?

After going down the mountain, Xu Fangqing had planned to hide behind her senior sister and lie flat. Who could have guessed she'd become her senior brother's personal lifesaver?

Whenever Zhu Qingfang got into danger, she would trigger the trait "Sacrifice the Senior Brother to Gain Boundless Sword Power" and save him.

When the head of another sect tried to kill him, the mechanism activated, and she turned the tide.

When monsters tried to attack him, the mechanism activated, and she slew them with a single sword strike.

Before long, Xu Fangqing realized her swordsmanship was improving by leaps and bounds.

Fine. Since she was benefiting from this, she might as well accept the mission of protecting her senior brother.

After all, her senior brother was a good cook.
