Yu Zhijun died on a rainy night. He coldly watched his father put on a false show of grief at the funeral. As his soul faded, only one thought remained:

Wen Shichen was the heroic character Yu Zhijun had created for himself: powerful, cold, and resilient, with every quality Yu Zhijun longed for. He had helped Yu Zhijun endure every difficult time and was his only tie to the world.

When Yu Zhijun opened his eyes again, a man covered in wounds was kneeling before him. The System told him he had entered a fanfiction world based on Wen Shichen, and that this was Wen Shichen.

Before Yu Zhijun could even tear up with emotion, he saw his foot kick the man in the chest against his will.

Yu Zhijun: !!!!!!

He heard the System whispering demonic words in his ear: "Villainous cannon fodder roleplay mission begins."

His mother died young, his father berated him, his older brother was cruel, and even his uncle sucked him dry. Wen Shichen had always felt that his life was one enormous tragedy.

He walked alone through the long, long nights, forgetting pain and humiliation, with only his burning desire for revenge left.

He'd thought he would live out his life like that, more monster than man, until that person inexplicably barged into his world.

The hand that had slapped him the second before turned into a gentle embrace. The cold words that had struck at his sore spots became thoughtful words of comfort and concern.

Wen Shichen had thought he could watch his clumsy tricks with indifference, but he fell deeper and deeper, until he could no longer extricate himself.

One ordinary afternoon, that person vanished from his life without warning. Everyone around him also lost all memory of him.

Wen Shichen felt as though he had fallen into hell. He searched like a madman.

He swore that the next time he saw that disobedient little fool, he wouldn't let him escape.

Yu Zhijun was erased by the main System for being out of character. He had already prepared himself to face death bravely, but Wen Shichen's sudden confession threw him into a panic.

Yet all he could do was watch as everyone forgot him, until he completely vanished from that world.

When he opened his eyes again, he saw a thick iron chain around his ankle. Wen Shichen came to his side with a sick smile, wrapped around him like a poisonous snake, and whispered:

"I won't let you get away this time..."
