Watching Zhou Chi lounging around in his rented apartment, wearing baggy shorts and slippers, drinking canned cola and laughing from start to finish at a movie, Xu Yufeng couldn't understand how this idiot had made a name for himself in Wujang City, where people would eat you alive. They hadn't seen each other in ten years. He had thought Zhou Chi would have made at least some progress.

"Yufeng, I'm short an assistant. How about coming to work at my company?"

"No."

"The salary not good enough? Just name your price."

Xu Yufeng glanced at him lazily. "The thought of working for a former remedial student I used to tutor makes me feel terrible."

After the company annual gala, the exhausted pair returned home.

Zhou Chi asked Xu Yufeng what gift he wanted.

Xu Yufeng raised an eyebrow. "Anything I want?"

Zhou Chi was a little drunk. "I'd even take a knife in both ribs for you."

As soon as he said it, he saw Xu Yufeng take off his watch, undo two shirt buttons, and suddenly lean in to press a hurried kiss to his lips.

"I want you, Zhou Chi."

Zhou Chi was completely stunned. He pushed open the door and fled.

Only when he reached the elevator did he realize that the place he'd just run out of was his own home.

Zhou Chi spent two hours calming down downstairs. When he returned, he saw someone lift his chin and smile at him.

All the mental preparation he'd done crumbled completely.

Damn it, if Xu Yufeng doesn't like smiling, then he shouldn't smile. He's way too much trouble when he does.
