After waking on the brink of death, Jin Xi found herself aboard a gigantic pirate ship.
When she opened her eyes, the first person she saw was a tall, red-haired man. Three conspicuous scars crossed his left eye, and he clearly didn't look like a good person.
Jin Xi had a blank, bewildered look, as if asking, 'Who am I? Where am I?' Seeing her gaze up at him with innocent, guileless eyes, the red-haired man was taken aback by how completely out of it she seemed.
Afterward, the ship's doctor, brought over by the red-haired man, examined Jin Xi carefully.
The doctor said that after falling into the sea with injuries, Jin Xi had developed a severe fever. The illness, compounded by a whole stack of debuffs, had most likely caused her amnesia.
Jin Xi gently touched the still-unhealed, shocking wound on her neck and looked around. The pirates surrounding her, with their wildly varied physiques and races, were nothing like the humans in her subconscious understanding of the world... Jin Xi began to suspect that she hadn't just lost her memory, but had also fried her brain with the fever.
The man who had saved her was named Red-Haired Shanks, and he was the captain of this pirate ship. But nobody aboard knew anything about her past, so she had no choice but to stay on the ship for the time being and think about how to repay her savior.
However, at one of their usual banquets, Jin Xi overheard the pirates chatting after they'd gotten drunk, and learned that...
Shanks, one of the Four Emperors of the Sea, had once lost an arm. And the left arm he now had, whole and healthy, had been healed by her.
Hearing this, Jin Xi's brain stalled.
She couldn't help recalling how attentive and considerate Shanks had always been toward her...
So the person being repaid was me all along?
