As everyone knows, most of Gotham's Bat-family vigilantes are seen as little birds who come out at night.
The current Robin can slice a criminal's skin with pinpoint accuracy in the dark. The buzz of his blade as it leaves its sheath is his one-of-a-kind "song."
The level-headed, calm Red Robin is a defender of the truth. In his hands, every cold case is painstakingly unraveled until it points to a single answer.
The brash Red Hood is a fearsome bird of prey. On his turf, anyone can have a chunk torn out of them. He combines violent methods with clear-cut principles.
The Bluebird who flew out of Gotham has made the sky her stage. Though still young, she's already shouldering the weight of an entire city, reliable and cheerful.
So...
Who is that guy over there, tucking his neck into his cape, skulking around on the ground, and crouching on a gargoyle for ages without moving, staring at the ground like he's thinking about something?!
How can someone who looks so vacant possibly have anything to do with the Bat-family?!
A new vigilante has appeared in Gotham. He has no codename and doesn't work with the other Bat-family vigilantes, but Gothamites instinctively lump this mysterious, steadfastly non-lethal vigilante in with Batman's side. Even if he isn't one of them, the Bat-family must already know everything about this newcomer. Gothamites might as well trust him too.
But this newcomer is just too strange. Given his various antics, Gothamites naturally gave him the codename "Night Heron."
In particular, he appears in all kinds of places and in all kinds of forms:
A gang making an illegal deal in an alley almost faints with fright when they see a bat-shaped shadow on the ground. But when they look up properly, they realize it's just Night Heron's cape blowing in the wind.
A fleeing criminal nearly passes out in despair when he sees someone approaching with a long staff, but just before closing his eyes, he realizes it's not a staff, but the white ribbons on Night Heron's cape.
When a man with a barrel-shaped head appears by a window outside, a gang boss thinks he's about to get shot and lose his life. Only when he gets closer does he realize it's Night Heron, his head tucked into his hood.
Gothamites: ...It's hard not to question whether he's really part of the Bat-family.
But when he spreads his cape and actually gets to work, his image as a violent vigilante is enough to win people over.
All in all, after Gotham's vigilante-watching craze took off, this motionless vigilante became the go-to recommendation for beginners. Almost every Gothamite now has a few photos of "Night Heron."
