In his previous life, Xiao Congjin was framed and imprisoned for years by the treacherous minister Xue Yun. After being reborn, the first thing he does is sharpen his blade and go after the minister.
*
As Xue Yi lay dying, he reflected on his life. His only regret was not being born ten years earlier, so he could have overthrown the foolish emperor and his treacherous minister sooner. Then he was reborn.
The good news: He was truly reborn during the period when the foolish emperor and the treacherous minister were still biding their time.
The bad news: He was reborn as Xue Yun, the great traitor from his previous life. And Xiao Congjin, whom Xue Yun had cruelly tormented, was also reborn.
Being reborn came with an enemy, and that enemy was full of hatred and eager to kill him. "Xue Yun, I'll kill you to rid the people of a scourge."
From then on, Xue Yi has to deal with both the foolish emperor and the treacherous minister, while also matching wits with Xiao Congjin.
Xiao Congjin mocks him and tries to kill him, while he pretends to comply and swears his loyalty.
He never expected the other man to take him seriously...
Xiao Congjin, pressing him at every turn: "You said yourself that you'd be my blade."
Xue Yi: If you like blades so much, I'll give you one.
Xue Yi plunges his blade into Xiao Congjin's chest, his gaze icy. In this new life, he'll be the one holding the knife, never the one on the chopping block.

Later, Xue Yi heads south to suppress a rebellion, where the rebels are conspiring with treacherous ministers in the court.
Isolated and without support, he sets his sights on the God of War general, renowned across the south and feared by all, and seeks an alliance.
But why does this God of War look so much like Xiao Congjin?!
Lately, the tent of the usually chaste and reserved general has been filled with sounds that make people blush.
Xue Yi's hands are cuffed to the bed, his body held in someone's arms. Xiao Congjin's voice comes from beside his ear:
"Tell me what you want. Beg me."
A lofty, cold-faced, foul-mouthed, fiercely possessive top, Xiao Congjin x an alluring, seductive, seemingly innocent but secretly calculating bottom, Xue Yi
One-on-one, happy ending, no angst. I just love watching couples play their little games of push and pull.
P.S. The plot serves the protagonists, so don't overthink it, please.
Theme: Finding a way out even when trapped in adversity
