Jiang Ye is a wandering singer who has been terrified of the dark ever since his father locked him in a basement as a child. Violinist Lin Shen discovers his musical talent, and the two bond over music and begin composing together. Jiang Ye's original song "Dawn" reveals the light within him to Lin Shen, while Lin Shen's gentleness and resolve gradually melt the ice around Jiang Ye's heart.
As Jiang Ye's talent is discovered, he signs with a well-known music company and moves on to bigger stages. But the pressure of fame leaves him feeling lost. Media attention and commercial demands become suffocating, and during a major performance, he breaks down under the strain and falls into self-doubt.
With Lin Shen by his side, Jiang Ye returns to the studio and rediscovers his love of music. He writes a new song, "Light," about his relationship with Lin Shen and how they found each other in the darkness. In the end, Jiang Ye returns to the stage and moves everyone with his music. He publicly thanks Lin Shen, and the two embrace beneath the spotlights.
