Completed short story: He Never Would Kiss My Lips

I’d been with Zhou Yan for over a year. He’d kissed me everywhere except my lips, and I didn’t know why.

Until I accidentally caught him kissing the woman he’d always loved. That was when I learned he’d only ever seen me as her substitute.

The reason he wouldn’t kiss me was that my lips were the only part of me that didn’t resemble the woman he loved.

I couldn’t accept it. He was a ray of light in my life, my salvation. If he hadn’t saved me, I would have died with my family.

So, alone and despairing, I chose to kill myself. But after I died, Zhou Yan suddenly said that I was the one he loved.
