K: Future of the Kings

I'm busy lately, so I'll pause updates for a while and fix some bugs in the saved manuscript.

A power born from the clash between the Red King and the Blue King, and brought forth from the Dresden Slate: Munakata Yami is especially curious about this world.

Munakata Yami: I heard that human parents are called Mom and Dad.

When he sees the person who feels especially warm to him: Mom?

Munakata Reisi: ...? Call him Father.

Munakata Yami turns around: Mom?

Suo Mikoto: That one's your mom. (pointing)

Holding the hands of his two fathers, Munakata Yami finds himself a little home of his own.

After his resentful father has him cram human-society knowledge with a private tutor, the still-young Munakata Yami is sent off to Mihama Elementary School.

After graduating from elementary school, he happily heads to Rikkai University Junior High School to begin his middle school life.

Munakata Yami has always wanted to grow stronger, strong enough to protect everyone he loves.

In the middle of the night, he always dreams of Kusuhara Go being shot through the head.

He dreams of a rooftop at night, where the gentle Totsuka Tatara lies in a pool of blood.

He dreams of his father's sorrowful expression, then, a moment later, of the sword Sirius piercing the heart of his other father.

When he wakes from the dream, he can't remember what happened in it. All he remembers is the heartbreak. He wants to grow a little stronger, then stronger still.

This time, the Colorless King's sword hangs high in the sky above his head.

The earlier part of the story focuses more on the Suo-Munakata pairing. There will be more of Yami's point of view after he starts school.

The kids won't start dating until their second or third year of middle school.

The background mentions Bungou Stray Dogs, but it doesn't play a major role in the plot.
