Tokyo, a bustling metropolis.
Totsuka Hinata had just passed the entrance exam for a school in Tokyo after coming from her hometown. She had planned to enjoy the conveniences of the big city, but her school was in the outskirts of Tokyo. To save money, she had no choice but to live in the dorms. Before term began, she sat sadly on the bus to school, planning to arrive early and get her room ready. That was when she happened to meet the Nekoma volleyball team, returning from training camp.
After falling in love at first sight with one of the players on the bus, Totsuka made repeated appearances in a corner on the second floor of the school gym, supposedly to watch the volleyball team practice. She thought she was hiding her feelings well, but a few scheming cats saw right through her. In the end, one black cat upperclassman tricked her into joining the club as Nekoma’s new manager, saying, “Wouldn’t things go better if you got closer?”
But why does being closer make it feel so much harder to make progress in love?!
“Yeah! Hinata! Let’s work hard and win the national championship together!” A certain big puppy shouted, his eyes sparkling like beautiful stars.
“Sure, sure, sure! Nekoma will win!” The girl, blushing either from shouting or from embarrassment, thought: I can’t tell them anymore that I joined the volleyball club as manager just to find love!
