The Detective Player Seems a Little Too Human

During one summer vacation, Wende Liyue received a copy of the wildly popular, high-freedom 18+ game Black Night Cube City Strange Tales, an official virtual reality VR game, and got access to its closed beta at the same time.

The game's main story has players solve one mystery after another, crack cases, and become the greatest detective. Along the way, they can unlock sweet romance routes with the characters they fancy, including a cold, poker-faced police officer and a cunning, foxlike flower shop owner, expose the city's dark forces, and achieve a happy ending.

But Wende Liyue is both a failed detective and an overpowered player.

The highest praise anyone can offer him is that he's “kind of human.”

* A detective is an excellent pickpocket, right?

Achievement unlocked: King of the Streets

* How do you conduct a secret investigation? Kill the people you see.

Oh no, the commission fee isn't enough to pay the damages!

* The detective activates a skill: Run away, using all four limbs. Secret technique: Two legs can never outrun four.

Achievement unlocked: God of Skipping the Bill

1. My deskmate and I are co-writing this. Our writing styles differ.

Damn it, I never thought the two of us would write a mystery novel together when we're both such unserious people!

Theme: Justice will triumph over evil
