Young Yamato was walking through the snow when she came across a strange woman dressed too lightly for the weather, yet not cold at all.
She called herself the yokai Aoandon.
[The following is an unserious, familiar-style blurb]
Is there anything more tragic than falling asleep while idling in a tower game in the middle of the night, then being killed by your phone exploding?!!
There is, friend, there is. For example, getting bound to a shady romance System that will forcibly turn you into a woman if you don't complete its missions.
I couldn't help but burst into tears.
At first, me: (sobbing) Fine, I'll do it! I'll do it, okay? So please turn me back! I really know I was wrong!
Later, me: (opening the door to a New World that can never be closed again) Hmm? What mission? System, I have to say, being a man has its own unique charm!
Later still, me: ? First of all, I'm so relieved that I'm helping clients find love across worlds, not selling my own affections. But why do I still have to play paparazzi, secretly take these people's pictures, and report on their nonexistent romantic progress in real time? Damn it!!
The System offers practiced comfort: At least it gave you a golden finger. That's pretty good.
I give it a look of pure disdain: Do you mean these idiotic scenes that could make you retch three pounds of melodrama, like treating Akainu while wearing a sweet, bashful face in Yamausagi's skin, or stubbornly asking Whitebeard if he'll take you with him while dressed as Zashiki-warashi?
System: Before you say that, don't forget who gave Akainu those wounds. And Whitebeard already asked if you wanted to go with him. You're the one who insisted on putting on this act!
Me: Next time, put me in Susanoo's skin. I want to skewer that bunch of idiots with no romantic instincts.
System: Rejected. With your luck, you'd be lucky to pull a Kyuumei Neko and scratch them twice.
Young Yamato didn't abandon the woman.
On a winter day when snow filled the sky, she curled up in the woman's arms, filled with endless curiosity and longing for the world outside, and listened as the woman slowly told her stories of the past.
[The One Hundredth Story:
The final story, about freedom and the sea]
Before reading: The author isn't a lore expert. I've mostly quit Onmyoji, though I occasionally go back to climb the tower. I've only watched the Wano arc of Pirate King, up to Ryokugyu's retreat.
There will be major changes, and out-of-character moments are inevitable, since everyone has their own interpretation. Please keep that in mind.
If I make a mistake, I won't stubbornly deny it. I'll go fix it right away.
Hope this gives you a laugh!
Warning: Free story, updated whenever. The romance is extremely chaotic.
An inch of time is worth an inch of gold. Rounding up, I've built Onmyoji a golden house... The stories I'm writing now are paid for with the tears I shed when I first got into the game. Onmyoji, how are you going to make it up to me!
Theme: I'm curious about your past, too.
