[A new novel is underway: My Wife Is a Love-Brained Supporting Character. Blurb below ↓↓↓]
The first time Xia Shi saw Chu Tang, she was completely captivated. Not by her lovely face, nor her cool and aloof bearing, and certainly not by the sorry state of a beauty fallen on hard times.
Xia Shi: (...): Who wouldn’t be captivated when they looked up and saw a row of bright red words floating over someone’s head?
Especially when those words said: Look, that’s Xia Shi’s wife!
Xia Shi’s eyes lit up. Then they lit up again. A wife! She knew what that meant: someone who could do her laundry, cook for her, warm her bed, and stay by her side for the rest of her life!
After being lonely for so long, Xia Shi couldn’t help feeling a little flutter in her heart.
Chu Tang was born into an official family and raised in luxury. She had studied music, chess, calligraphy, painting, poetry, and literature. She couldn’t do a thing when it came to laundry or cooking!
But now this young lady had fallen on hard times, and she had to grab the lifeline right in front of her. So when Xia Shi asked if she could do laundry, cook, and warm the bed, she answered firmly, “Yes.”
It wasn’t exactly a lie. After all, she really could warm the bed!
A little scene:
Xia Shi brought Chu Tang home and had her try making her first dish: chicken stewed with mushrooms.
After rubbing her hands together and waiting for ages, Xia Shi finally saw the chicken soup served. She eagerly ladled out a bowl for herself and one for her wife. As she blew on hers to cool it, she spotted a bright, enormous mushroom in the bowl and was horrified, thinking her wife was going to kill her and run away.
She looked up and saw that Chu Tang had already slurped down half her bowl...
Fine, this wife couldn’t cook. She got it.
What could she do? Make the best of it. It’s not like she could return her!
Note:
1. Wild and free-growing, can be a wolf, a sweet puppy, or someone you can rely on; sunny, goofy hunter woman VS extremely well-read but hopeless at housework, sometimes cool and commanding, sometimes gentle; tsundere catlike young lady in trouble.
2. A setting where same-sex marriage is legal. The early chapters focus on everyday life, and later they’ll leave the mountains.
3. Xia Shi lives in the mountains. Her idea of a wife comes from the men in the village running their mouths. Once she brings Chu Tang home, all she’ll do is spoil her rotten.
4. Chu Tang is in poor health and always has cold hands and feet, so in the end, Xia Shi is the one who warms the bed.
5. Don’t argue with me that women are weaker than men. Growing crops on your own is easy. If you insist on arguing, you win: I’m a sexist. You can click the X and leave. I only want to emphasize that two women together need to have a skill that lets them support themselves, especially in ancient times. Without some ability to defend themselves, they’re also liable to be bullied.
P.S. This novel will be available for purchase on April 10, with three chapters released that day. I hope you’ll keep supporting it~
Blurb for the new novel: My Wife Is a Love-Brained Supporting Character
Three years after transmigrating, Pei Lan realizes she may have transmigrated into a book, and become a disposable background character.
It starts when her mother suddenly produces half of a jade pendant and tells her it’s her betrothal token. It turns out she has a fiancee she was promised to as a baby; her family has fallen on hard times; and the engagement has never been called off.
Unfortunately, over the past three years, Pei Lan has used her System to make a fortune, and her mother thinks their family is back on its feet.
Even worse, her fiancee’s name is exactly the same as that of a supporting female character in a novel Pei Lan read before she transmigrated.
And worst of all, the half of the jade pendant in her hand seems to be a key item that brings the male lead and the love-brained supporting character together?!
Her hand trembled as she held the jade pendant. So, just asking: is it still too late to break off the engagement?
Meng Wan has been in a daze lately, having all sorts of dreams.
In them, she chases after a man, willing to die for him. She throws away her dignity and doesn’t even care about putting her family’s lives in danger. She lives worse than a roast pork bun.
The good news is that she doesn’t know the man. The bad news is that the things she dreamed about are starting to come true one by one!
Just as she shuts herself indoors, trembling with fear, she suddenly hears that her fiance is coming over to break off their engagement?!
Oh, thank goodness... No, this is a bodhisattva who’s come to save me!
There’s no way she’ll let him break off the engagement. The sensible thing to do is get them into bed together as soon as possible!
P.S. Pretends to resist but secretly welcomes it, seemingly proper woman VS proactive, love-brained woman
