My serial novel, Reverse Affection, is currently underway.
Here is the blurb. Please add it to your collection!
Two-faced heiress and family powerbroker Zhu Changying x beautiful, self-effacing young husband Ruan Wangshu
"A woman with power and money always has a lover on the side, especially if her canary has a pretty voice and knows how to cry."
When someone joked about it at a society banquet, Zhu Changying put an arm around her fiance's waist to reassure him.
The sound of breaking glass suddenly came from a corner. A new waiter had accidentally knocked over the champagne table, and his slender waist showed through his soaked white shirt.
She narrowed her eyes. The moment she saw the young waiter raise a hand to wipe away his tears, she froze.
Wasn't this the little canary she'd once kept?
From the hero's perspective:
At eighteen, Ruan Wangshu grasped one great truth: every gift fate bestows comes with a price, already marked in secret.
As he was held down in the filthy water by the laboratory building, a boy's blue-and-white shoes stopped in front of him.
Zhu Changying wrapped his broken finger in a silk scarf, but casually let go as he staggered to his feet. "Are you all right?"
He looked up and met a goddess.
Later, he learned to swallow his rival's insults and endure the abuse hurled at him in rumors, but in the end, he couldn't stop the goddess from leaving.
When they met again, she was a powerful figure with authority and influence, while he was just a single father with a child.
The girl beside him tugged at his sleeve and asked curiously, "Daddy, is she my mom?"
Bonus scene 1:
Ruan Wangshu sneaks a look at the sketchbook Zhu Changying has hidden away, then suddenly finds himself pinned against the rooftop railing, her hand at his waist.
Every yellowing page is filled with him: curled up asleep in class, sneaking strawberry tart at a banquet, even sunbathing in the garden late in his pregnancy.
"Changying had her eye on me all along?"
Zhu Changying leisurely traces his collarbone. "Wangshu, the one who tugged at my cufflink first back then..."
She bites his flushed earlobe. "Was you, crying so hard you could barely breathe."
Bonus scene 2:
Zhu Changying discovers that Ruan Wangshu has secretly kept the experimental reports she tore up.
Tucked between the yellowing pages is a candid photo: she watches coldly as he is forced into a pool, while the boy smiles at her in the water's reflection.
"When did you find out?"
"The last time you bandaged my wound." He softly murmurs around her fingertip, "But I love your trembling lashes even more when you pretend to be gentle."
Reader's guide: 1. Please don't make fun of the author's unconventional blurb, lol.
2. The heroine always remains above it all. There is no groveling arc from the male lead, from beginning to end.
3. The characters' values are not the author's values.
Theme: This time, I want to be a good person
