Because of humanity's sins,

the "gods" brought down punishment.

Mutations broke out around the world.

The animals, humans, and plants that mutated were called "mutants" by the survivors.

Mutants were divided into six ranks: 3S, 2S, S, 3A, 2A, and A.

The surviving humans fell into crisis.

But the "gods" also gave humanity a chance,

a hope of survival.

They would use the natural world, the easiest thing to master yet most despised by humanity in the past.

Surviving humans would awaken as "supply beings."

A supply being could take any form: an animal, a plant...

Supply beings would merge with the beings they supplied, namely the surviving humans, who would have to rely on them to stay alive.

The "gods" said that if humanity survived this trial, its sins would be cleansed, and they would bestow blessings and grant it "life." If not, it would mean humanity's sins still remained in this world, and they would bring down punishment and grant it "death."

But the "gods" knew the truth better than anyone.

The terrifying thing about the apocalypse wasn't the "mutants."

It was human nature...

Before the apocalypse, Qing Zixi was a famous botanist. After it began, the supply being she awakened as was the oleander. Most people might not know that oleander is poisonous from the moment it sprouts.

And Qing Zixi was exactly the kind of person who seemed gentle and kind on the surface, but was actually very good at playing with people's hearts.

Someone else: "Hey, what's your supply being?"

Qing Zixi: "I'm really weak. I'm just an insignificant little flower, sob T^T"

Mo Keyu walked over to the interesting-looking "master of disguise," the "fragile" little flower.

Qing Zixi caught the scent wafting from him.

Hmm... datura?
