I originally wanted to write a World War II story, but JJ restricts this genre, so I had to change it into a space-opera story. Lead-gray uniforms, black leather jackets and boots, mechanical prosthetics and mechs... I guess that could work too?
Helena was only fourteen when she and Heinz parted ways.
Back then, she thought Heinz was simply attending military school, as was customary in their family.
She never expected that when they met again, she would be a subject of a conquered nation.
Huasia lay in ruins. Heinz wore a lead-gray uniform, and the mechanical arm hidden beneath his leather jacket gleamed with cold metal.
No! He wasn't her brother. He was nothing but a weapon of war, liable to go berserk at any moment!
She ran.
He pressed the dark muzzle of his gun to her head, yet gently drew her into his arms with his other hand.
“Helena, don't have any more foolish ideas. She doesn't deserve to be your mother. From now on, I'll be responsible for your education. Soon, you'll understand that the Third Empire of Desensai is in the right...”
A novella, planned at 200,000 words. An alternate World War II setting, not a conventional space opera. The story takes place during the social upheaval following a technological leap forward.
Pseudo-incest. The heroine was adopted by the hero's mother. His parents divorced, and the heroine lived with his mother in Lanbo Huasia. At the beginning, they are no longer in a period of ongoing familial ties.
(Original title: The Weihe Riverbank Lies Quiet. It contained sensitive words, so I changed it to this. I might change it again later, since it's now a space-opera story.)
Theme: Cherish peace
