[Marriage before love | Rivals on the same side | Unruly x Controlling]
One-line pitch: I woke up with amnesia and discovered my nemesis had become my husband.
Uptight daddy vs. spoiled heiress
As the only daughter of a top-tier wealthy family, Xiang Wu has always gotten everything she wants. She’s been raised to be spoiled and willful.
It doesn’t matter, though. Everyone will dote on her, indulge her, flatter her, and look up to her.
Except Zhong Xuzhi.
When her friends chat in private, they always end up discussing the rich young men in their circle. These haughty heiresses blush and swoon whenever Zhong Xuzhi comes up.
They say he’s handsome, rich, and in great shape. They say he has a wonderful voice, and that sweet talk from him in bed would make anyone’s bones melt.
At twenty-two, Xiang Wu scoffs. “A stuffy, boring, germophobic corporate drone like him is obviously useless in bed.”
Her friend gives her a suggestive wink. “Have you tried him, babe?”
Xiang Wu’s cheeks flush with anger. She glares. “Even if every other man on earth died, I still wouldn’t try Zhong Xuzhi!”
-
The only daughter of STR Group, Xiang Wu, gets into a car accident, causing an uproar. The media swarm the hospital.
The accident sends twenty-six-year-old Xiang Wu’s memories back to when she was twenty-two.
Xiang Wu thinks it’s fine. More than twenty years of being the center of attention have given her a sunny outlook.
Except
She looks at Zhong Xuzhi, who has appeared in her home in the middle of the night.
The man is dressed in a suit, just as aloof and restrained as he was five years ago, and just as irritating as ever.
Mom says she got married two years ago, to Zhong Xuzhi. They even had a wedding of the century.
Impossible! This is the ultimate humiliation!!!
“Zhong Xuzhi, don’t you think this is ridiculous? How could I have married you?!” Xiang Wu rambles on, then reaches a conclusion. “Are you free tomorrow? I’ll call a lawyer and discuss the divorce.”
The man seems to find her noisy and furrows his brows. At the sound of water running into the bathtub, he loosens his tie with two fingers.
Xiang Wu is pushed down onto the foot of the bed. She watches the man kneel on one knee before her. At last, he’s looking up at her just as she wanted, but in a moment this chaotic.
“Wu Wu, look, we know each other better than anyone.”
The stuffy, boring man makes his surrender plain in his eyes.
-
Xiang Wu gradually realizes this marriage isn’t so bad.
At the very least, it feels amazing to spend her nemesis’s money without limit!!!
What’s more, Xiang Wu has to admit that she and Zhong Xuzhi are very compatible.
Except that sometimes he’s a little rough and domineering, nothing like his refined demeanor.
But that’s all right. She likes taming men who don’t know what’s good for them.
Her training plan is going well, and she’s confident she can turn him into her obedient puppy.
Until he catches her “meeting” an ex-boyfriend and takes her home for a scolding.
Xiang Wu fumes. “Zhong Xuzhi! I want a divorce!”
Zhong Xuzhi remains calm and composed as he says quietly, “Don’t say divorce again. Don’t hide from me, Wu Wu.”

Honest, earnest little sister x nasty, brooding second brother
Wan Chun first met Liang Qingheng when she was eight.
She was brought into the Liang family as both an adopted daughter and a study companion to Liang Mu.
Liang Mu, the eldest son of the Liang family, had been sickly since childhood.
Wan Chun got along very well with him. Liang Mu taught her calligraphy, chess, and painting, and they lived together in harmony.
The Liang elders appreciated her gentle, obedient nature and how well she cared for Liang Mu. In private, they thought it wouldn’t be unreasonable for the two of them to end up together when they grew up.
But an accident took Liang Mu, who had been frail to begin with.
Wan Chun became the most awkwardly placed person in the Liang family.
After the funeral, people whispered among themselves.
“With Liang Mu gone, what’s his child bride supposed to be to the Liang family now?”
“They’re well-off, so they can keep her. Consider it charity.”
“Maybe the Liang parents really are willing to raise her, but what about the second young master? He’ll be running the Liang family one day. Everyone knows he can’t stand that adopted daughter.”
Wan Chun kneels before the funeral altar, her slight, frail back turned to them as tears fall one by one onto the cushion.
No one knows that the phone in her pocket is vibrating with a message from the second young master, Liang Qingheng.
“Come here.”
“Now’s not a good time.”
“The more tears you shed now, the more I’ll make you shed in my bed later.”
-
The two Liang brothers couldn’t be more different by nature.
The eldest, Liang Mu, is gentle and dignified. The second, Liang Qingheng, is cruel and domineering.
Wan Chun has always known that Liang Qingheng hates her.
She accidentally breaks his fountain pen. He takes out a ruler and smacks her palm until it’s red, but when she looks up, there’s a gleam in his eyes.
On her eighteenth birthday, Liang Mu tells her, “May my Wan Chun have a smooth and happy life.”
In the middle of the night, Liang Qingheng uses the ruler to lift her chin and demands, word by word, “Say it. Who do you belong to?”
Liang Qingheng has always been used to controlling and possessing things, used to Wan Chun obeying him reluctantly and submitting in fear.
He never imagined that one day Wan Chun would escape his control and disappear without a trace.
