Ning Miao is an unremarkable cat demon. After a failed transformation, he ends up in another world an unknown number of years in the future.
In this world, everyone adopts a supernatural pet to keep them company for life.
Because Ning Miao has no supernatural abilities, he becomes a pet stuck at the adoption center.
The wait to be adopted is miserable, until one day a man walks in.
The man's name is Wen Ran. He lost his sight after being injured on the battlefield, and has just one requirement for a pet: it must help him see.
Ning Miao thinks his chance has come. Even though the man seems cold and distant, he eagerly puts himself forward. Meow, pick me, pick me! I'm a guide cat.

Ning Miao follows Wen Ran home. At first, he is cautious, keeping his tail tucked between his legs like a well-behaved cat.
Once he gets comfortable in his new territory, Ning Miao takes full advantage of Wen Ran's blindness and lets himself go completely.
What he doesn't know is that Wen Ran's blindness is caused by a disturbance in his mental power, and his vision briefly returns late at night when no one is around.
What Ning Miao also doesn't know is that technology in this world is so advanced that electronic devices can record everything.
One night, Wen Ran opens the security footage and sees the cat on screen quietly turn into a cat-eared boy. Thinking of the forces that have been growing restless lately, his gaze darkens.
The next day, Wen Ran deliberately leaves a confidential document on the table.
That night, he sits in front of the monitor and watches Ning Miao parkour around the room. After accidentally knocking over a cup and soaking the document, the little cat sits there for a while, dazed. Finally, he turns into a cat-eared boy and sneaks the papers into the trash to destroy the evidence.

As Wen Ran's eyesight gradually recovers, he sees more and more of what Ning Miao gets up to.
At the supermarket, Wen Ran picks out the household essentials and gets ready to pay.
Ning Miao leads the way, saying, "This way, this way," as he guides Wen Ran to the pet section and secretly slips cans of food and toys into the cart.
When it's time to pay, Ning Miao expertly pulls out a note and shows it to the cashier: My owner doesn't like talking. Please charge the card directly.
When they eat out, Wen Ran orders food, but Ning Miao stares at him with wide cat eyes and insists there's nothing available.
