Xuzhao, the fifth-ranked swordswoman on the Heavenly List, burned the Book-Extinguishing Manor to the ground to avenge herself, then took the Phoenix Transformation Pill and was reborn.
In the blaze, the ordinary man Xie Jin, who had spent years pursuing the martial path, accidentally saved her.
Though Xie Jin longed for the martial world, he had terrible aptitude and could never find his way in.
With her vengeance complete, Xuzhao disguised herself as a direct disciple of the Book-Extinguishing Manor and offered to take him to Medicine King Valley to steal its most prized treasure, the Marrow-Cleansing Pill.
It wasn't out of gratitude. She wanted to personally mold him into a scapegoat who would be blamed for wiping out the Book-Extinguishing Manor's hundreds of people.
[Reading Guide]
1. The protagonist never comes to love anyone. Everyone's feelings are one-sided, regardless of gender, though there may be coercive scenes involving either men or women.
2. The protagonist is a beast in human clothing, with no morals. Xie Jin starts out following the protagonist, but later gets thoroughly screwed over by them.
3. The protagonist is 29 but becomes 21; Xie Jin is 19. I haven't decided whether the protagonist will end up with anyone.
4. Updates are irregular. I'll post when I feel like writing. I'm mainly working on another novel.
Theme: Don't pick up a woman lying by the roadside on a whim.
