Nan Ke, a veterinarian whose wages have been withheld for half a year, uses the video game equipment the hospital gave her in lieu of payment to log into an apocalyptic game said to make players rich once they clear it.

But five seconds after the game starts, Nan Ke blacks out.

A guide System in the shape of a little lamb smiles and says, "Welcome to the game. Due to a System bug, you've been transported to a high-risk area. The NPCs hunting you will arrive on the battlefield in five seconds. Prepare yourself!"

Unarmed, Nan Ke runs and scrambles from place to place until she finally finds a rundown monster slaughterhouse amid the ruins of a village destroyed by mutated monsters.

Unexpectedly, thanks to her superb dissection skills, Nan Ke the veterinarian becomes an outstanding employee at the slaughterhouse and obtains an exclusive weapon and a rare item that lets her tame monsters.

Returning to the beginner city with secret missions and tamed monsters in tow, Nan Ke can't help feeling like an upperclassman picking on a bunch of grade-school kids.

Go undercover in a heavily guarded research institute and steal classified files, fight a vicious boss-level mutated monster one-on-one, sneak into a purge squad to rescue the faction leader NPC...

So when the player faction war begins, a strange scene unfolds:

Players from the enemy faction surround a lone short-haired woman, sneering. "Look, a noob whose level doesn't even show..."

A flash of cold steel. The next moment, the players who had stepped forward to provoke her feel a chill at their throats.

"Could it be that you can't see my level because it's too high?"

Nan Ke flicks the blood off her cleaver in disgust.
