I'm a freak. My name became a filthy slur passed from mouth to mouth. At some point, another name began to appear on their lips: Chen Du.
They said Chen Du and I were the same kind of person, equally disgusting.
I first met Chen Du on a rainy night. The rain left me drenched and miserable. Chen Du reached out, and I saw a scar on his arm just like mine.
He was gentle and clever. When he smiled, the whole world seemed to glow.
His eyes were a mesmerizing whirlpool, but I would rather fall into it with him.
On Nanjiang Bridge, backlit, with a faint shadow beneath his eyes, he smiled as he always did. "Xu Nuo, let's run away together."
Then he held out his hand, and I went with him.
