"A nobody from the start, fighting against the current and turning the tables when all hope seems lost!"
Yun Zhe was the jungler chosen through GDA's million-yuan open tryouts.
Besides the money, there was someone on the team he had his eye on: Fu Jinzhou, former top substitute for world champion team ST.
Fu Jinzhou was tall and long-legged, with a stern face and an air as distant as mist.
Most striking of all was his white hair,
always half-hidden beneath the brim of a black cap.
Yun Zhe had watched his match highlights. The guy was fierce.
As soon as he joined the team, Yun Zhe showered him with shameless praise, begged him to carry, and asked him to teach him some tricks.
Fu Jinzhou glanced at him, expressionless. "I can't."
When the team announced their positions, Fu Jinzhou turned out to be playing support.
Yun Zhe scoffed. Had the hero grown old? Had he picked a position with no damage?
So he was all show after all. Yun Zhe felt his enthusiasm had been misplaced,
and from then on, he only gave Fu Jinzhou perfunctory replies.
During an in-house scrim, Fu Jinzhou pinned Yun Zhe under his tower and solo-killed him fifteen times.
Then he opened his mic in the team channel, his voice cool and haughty. "Giving up on learning?"
Yun Zhe's face flushed bright red as he managed to blurt out, "You won't teach me."
"I will. Come find me after practice."
Their teammates, still in the channel, only dared to glance around without moving a muscle.
Had the aloof, arrogant, and gloomy Fu Jinzhou really changed?
Later, GDA made it into the league, and Yun Zhe was shaking all over with nerves.
Fu Jinzhou crouched in front of him and gently asked if he remembered the road that had brought him here.
Yun Zhe could only nod, so Fu Jinzhou took his hand.
"Then from now on, we'll only move forward."
