Female Lead's Perspective:

Male Lead's Perspective:
Pei Min meets Jiang Yao at the age when first love blossoms, and his heart is moved. But he has rejected the imperial family's arranged marriage, and is destined to spend his life alone. He doesn't dare hold someone as wonderful as Jiang Yao back.
He pretends to be cold and aloof, rejecting Jiang Yao time and again, while the love in his heart grows wildly.
At last, on the night he drives Jiang Yao away in anger, she sneaks into his room and pins him against the desk.
He hurriedly grabs the woman's hand as she tugs at his sash.
Jiang Yao's voice turns to ice. "I'm giving you one last chance. If you don't want this, I won't force you. From now on, the world is wide, and we'll each go our own way."
He bites his reddened lip, then lets go.
Later, his Jiang Yao becomes the current Fourth Highness, the Fourth Highness rumored to be the most skilled at manipulating people's hearts, the Fourth Highness surrounded by concubines.
She plays him like a puppet, then ascends to the throne.
