Moonlight Directive

Li Wei is bound to the "Moonlight Directive" System. Her mission is to make Zhou Yichen, the campus heartthrob, fall in love with her within a year. Success earns her generous rewards; failure brings a punishment of misfortune.

She follows the System's directives to the letter:

Directive 1: At 6 a.m., bring him warm soy milk and a sandwich.

Directive 27: Hand him an ice-cold bottle of water after his basketball game.

Directive 158: Sit across from him in the library and quietly keep him company.

Three hundred days of effort earn her nothing but his growing irritation and the mockery of those around them. Exhausted in body and mind, Li Wei faces the System's latest directive: [Shield him from the rain and pretend to catch a cold]. Looking at Zhou Yichen's indifferent back, she refuses for the first time.

"I'm done with the mission. Let the punishment come."

She turns and walks into the rain, determined to reclaim her life. That night, her fever refuses to break, but she unexpectedly connects to Zhou Yichen's System channel...

The next day, as Li Wei emerges from her dormitory, still sick, Zhou Yichen blocks her way. Dark circles shadow his eyes, his voice is hoarse, and he clutches the same soy milk and sandwich she brought him every day for three hundred days. His eyes hold a fear and pleading she's never seen before.

"Li Wei," he asks through gritted teeth, "why didn't you keep bringing me breakfast today?"
