Su Ye is an unmistakable problem girl from Liyue.
Her reputation at the Akademiya isn't exactly great, and she's just as well known as those good students who are either rumored to be hard to approach or praised by everyone for being easygoing.
What nobody knows, though, is that she knows the Scribe Alhaitham in private. As people would put it, in a way, she and Alhaitham grew up together.
But Su Ye doesn't like life at the Akademiya, so after graduating she chooses to leave Sumeru behind, travel to various nations, or return to her homeland and live out the rest of her life in peace.

Alhaitham has a childhood friend from the Rtawahist who isn't good at socializing. People usually describe her much as they describe him: "hard to get along with" and "a weirdo."
Lately, he's been a little troubled. A few years ago, Su Ye graduated from the Akademiya and privately asked his opinion about leaving Sumeru. Now, Alhaitham can only hear from Kaveh and the others that Su Ye has returned to Gandharva Ville, accompanied by the blond Traveler and some flying creature.
Of course, Alhaitham did give her his advice back then, and Kaveh later teased him about it.

1. Lots of headcanon. The Traveler is Lumine. Pairing with Alhaitham. The girl has an Anemo Vision and usually uses a bow.
2. Alhaitham may not appear until much later. No female rivalry. The girl is doted on by everyone but doesn't realize it.
