On yet another trip to the lower realm to take care of business, a soul fragment that had long slumbered inside Fan Yuan suddenly awoke. Their soul split in two, and the two halves fought, breaking the passage between realms and falling into the mortal world, where they vanished without a trace.
That soul fragment was Fan Tian.
No one in the world could say which of them was the original owner of this body.
Fan Tian fell into the ghostly path and met the Ghost King, Jiang Biyun. The two embarked on an unorthodox path, made countless enemies, and devoted themselves wholeheartedly to cultivation.
Fan Yuan fell into the human world and possessed a dull-witted child to begin cultivating immortality. His single-minded goal was to find his senior sister Yaoguang and return with her to the Ninth Heaven.
Strangely, though the two traveled the world, they never once crossed paths.
Then the spiritual energy between Heaven and Earth ran dry, and the world teetered on the brink of collapse. At last, in the apocalypse, they met.
Would they make peace or kill each other? Neither had any idea.
The Fire Phoenix and Ice Dragon, the Lord of the Underworld, the Snow Mountain Ice Fox, the cassia tree on the moon, Taiyin and Shaoyang, the Great Emperor of Fengdu, human cultivators, and demon cultivators all quietly pursued their own paths.
Only those who survive to the end will have the right to tell later generations this grand and heroic tale!
Spoiler about what some readers may dislike: Ancient monsters who've lived for ages won't get tangled up in romantic entanglements. So if love happens, it's fate. If it doesn't, no one will force it.
Theme: All methods are illusory; the first principle of cultivating immortality is virtue!
